Paris,France - 1 July 2025- French startup KERYS Software, expert in IT infrastructure convergence, has secured €6.2 million in pre-seed funding from investment funds Daphni, Seedcamp and Backtrace to accelerate its mission of transforming how enterprises manage IT infrastructure. The round also includes investment from Kima Ventures fund and business angels Amirhossein Malekzadeh, Sébastien Pahland Nicolas Steegmann, supporting KERYS Software in scaling up their go-to-market efforts and attracting top talent to grow their business.
KERYS Software was founded in 2024 by Thomas Brethomé, Sébastien Domergue, Sylvain Cassier, and joined in early 2025 by Thomas Girard – these four long-standing industry experts bring deep expertise in cybersecurity and infrastructure, honed in high-stakes sectors such as defense.
The startup sprang from a simple, yet worrying observation: most businesses are weigheddown by underused IT equipment, a recipe for runaway costs and high energy bills. By virtualising workloads, KERYS allows several work environments to share a single workstation or server without sacrificing performance or security. Delivered via the YS::Cloud and YS::Desktop platforms, this shared infrastructure model slashes costs and emissions by shrinking the number of physical devices and pushing servers closer to full capacity. According to KERYS, a 500-employee firm where everyone runs two computers at the same time, could eliminate more than 200 tonnes of CO₂ by consolidating its IT estate.
Since launch, KERYS Software has forged a number of strategic and commercial partnerships to broaden the applications of its technology. With this freshround of funding, the company plans to scale its team, sharpen its product offering, and accelerate international growth.
“In just one year, we have managed to establish ourselves as one of the emerging keyplayers in InfraTech [IT infrastructure technology],” says Thomas Girard, CEO and co-founder of KERYS Software. “We are tackling several key priorities for companies across all sectors, with an all-in-one approach: reducing costs, strengthening cybersecurity and managing carbon footprints. This represents a paradigm shift in IT infrastructure optimisation and associated resource management, and the strong demand we are seeing – particularly from large corporations – strengthens our ambition.”
“KERYS Software is a rare combination of an extraordinary team and perfect timing, with the reorganisation of component architecture, the implementation of new regulations (NIS2 in particular), and established players losing momentum,” comments Shabir Vasram, Partner, Daphni.
“We are excited to partner with KERYS from day one to support their mission of introducing a new approach to virtualisation in critical industries and beyond. With a stellar team of industry experts and a solid value proposition, KERYS is well-positioned to become a leader in InfraTech,” says Carlos Eduardo Espinal MBE, Managing Partner at Seedcamp.
“Workstations and servers spend much of their lifetime idling. With Kerys, customers can run multiple CPU or GPU workloads on a single machine. Its lightweight, highly secure microkernel delivers near-native performance and safely virtualizes workloads that previously required dedicated hardware. That’s smart engineering solving a real pain for customers: less idle time, lower total cost of ownership, and a smaller carbon footprint.,” said Dominik Tobschall,Founder and Partner at Backtrace.
KERYS Software is already recognised in France as an emerging force in the deep techand cybersecurity ecosystem (including by the Radar Wavestone 2025 for innovation in cybersecurity) and is supported by several financial institutions and public bodies.
KERYS Software is also a partner of the CEA LIST for the formalisation of security certifications for its new technology, which will enable very high levels of security to be achieved by the company in the near future, such as the EAL5+common criteria level.
