After raising €6.2 million in pre-seed funding in July from Daphni, Seedcamp, Backtrace, and Kima Ventures, the French deep tech company now offers a solution tailored to the most critical entities and providing a concrete response to a major cybersecurity challenge.
Within critical structures, the proliferation of workstations for a single user has become the norm in order to prevent attacks or protect sensitive assets. KERYS Software's YS::Desktop solution offers a radically new approach: isolating environments on a single computer, without any constraints for the user. The solution allows users to pool resources securely and efficiently, meeting their technical and practical needs.
"Our ambition has always been to enable a single workstation where the law or risks required multiple workstations," explains Thomas Girard, CEO of KERYS Software. "By simplifying the work environment, we are not only making life easier for employees, but also for CIOs and CISOs."
"KERYS has finally enabled us to offer our developers an environment that is both suited to their business needs and pleasant to use. It's a real pleasure," says Philippe Thamie, Technical Manager at Actemium.
Beyond security issues, YS::Desktop addresses another problem: the underuse of IT equipment. Through pooling resources, KERYS Software's solution helps companies reduce their infrastructurecosts while increasing their productivity.
The innovative approach of KERYS' solution has attracted the interest of major players in cybersecurity, who actively participated in the testing and validation phases and identified several use cases for a variety of businesses.
"The solution was immediately operational on the end-user side. That's what attracted our first customers," says Thomas Brethomé, CTO of KERYS Software.
"The fluidity of the environment change—with a simple swipe—was very popular internally. The isolation between environments (applications and networks) allowed us to identify many use cases, such as reducing our workstation fleet and securing data handling by our experts," says Hervé Naudin, Head of Open Innovation at Orange Group.
"As a company specializing in cybersecurity, we were impressed by KERYS' approach, which breaks free from the emulation layer found in all current hypervisors," adds Cédric Prévot, systems engineer at Aktea.
Version 1.0 is a milestone in the development of YS::Desktop. It now offers fine-grained authorization management for each environment and can be deployed industrially in the most critical entities.
This granularity was developed in close collaboration with pilot customers to meet the requirements of large groups and sensitive structures. This version supports different security policies for different environments and security domains, an essential criterion for these large accounts.
"Thanks to feedback from our customers, we have been able to move quickly to make YS::Desktop as easy to deploy as it is to use," concludes Thomas Brethomé.
"Now that version 1.0 is available, we are planning to roll it out to our customers," concludes Cédric Prévot.
